In my quest for lovely, but cheap, beauty items, I decided to set myself a little challenge and see just how much stuff I could get for £10.00 from Superdrug. Why a tenner, you ask? Because that’s how much it costs for free shipping 😂
I knew that I wanted an eyeliner felt pen, some translucent face powder and a lipstick, but as they had a 3 for 2 on cosmetics offer on, I wasn’t sure what else to get. This is what I ended up with:
Forgot to move the coffee 🙄
The fluffy key ring thing was free with my order.
Eylure Naturals 015 Lashes £2.69
Collection Sheer Loose Powder in Translucent 2 £2.99
Miss Sporty Studio Lash The Miaoww Eyeliner in Black #001 £2.99
Freedom Pro Highlight in Diffused £3.00
Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick in The One £1.00
Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick in Encore £1.00
Makeup Revolution Vamp Collection Lipstick in Rebel With Cause £1.00
First off, can we talk about how gorgeous this Freedom Highlight is? I’m not usually one for highlight but as soon as I saw it, I had to have it.
I’m also looking forward to trying the powder. The Rimmel one I usually use is running low and I wanted to try something loose so I could *attempt* to bake my face. That should be hilarious. I originally wanted the NYC one but Superdrug doesn’t seem to stock much of that brand anymore. Bit of a shame.
I’ve never worn fake lashes before and finally I’ve put aside my insane fear of them sticking to my eyeballs to give them a go. I got the most natural looking ones I could find to start with. I figured that if I liked them, I could try something a bit more glamorous on special occasions. Maybe. I like that they’re multi-toned as I’m a ginger and thick black lashes would just look ridiculous.
I really want to keep trying with liquid liner and I’ve heard really good things about the Miss Sporty Miaoww Liner. If its rubbish, it was only a few pounds, but if it’s great then I might incorporate it into my makeup routine!
Encore wasn’t a colour I was exactly excited about. The photos make it look a lot lighter than it is. It’s a deep pink colour that I wanted to try, but wasn’t sure that I would like. I also discovered, that the bottom pots are removable and you get extra lipstick in there!
When I put it on, I loved it! It was much more sheer than I expected and gave my lips a natural looking glossy tint.
I’ve been looking to build my nude lipstick collection and when I saw The One, I thought it would be the perfect daily nude to add to my makeup drawer.
On, it was much paler than I expected but I still really like it. I love my matte lipsticks but there’s something about a satin nude that makes me feel so put together.
Lastly, I bought Rebel With Cause which was the product I was most looking forward to. I am in love with deep berry, vampy shades and for £1, it seemed too good to be true.
It isn’t. I’m in love with it.
It’s not too opaque but it’s buildable and creamy without feathering around my mouth. I also discovered that it’s a great dupe for Soap and Glory Matte 3D Lipstick in Wild Berry. Whilst neither are exactly costly, if you can’t get hold of one you can get the other!
Top: Rebel With Cause, Bottom: Soap and Glory Wild Berry.
Swatches: Diffused, Miaoww liner and the lipsticks (top to bottom) are The One, Encore and Rebel with Cause.
I can’t wait to start trying all these pretty things!
